Detour

Detour

fingers
intertwine
empty sidewalk
guilty eyes undress
I confess
feet planted
pub lamp spotlight,
you preach
a borrowed solo
pseudo-negotiation
do everything
you ask

lips
licked haphazardly
Seventh Street
rain
drooling
one more word
heartbreaking song,
I lean in

thumbs
guiding wrists
light-rail glides away
squeeze and pull
detour
you shake me loose
