She said write about the thing
that scares you the most.
But I haven't even begun to hold
that beating heart in my mouth,
let alone the page.
And what was the most hurtful thing
anyone ever said to you?
Actions have bled
me far worse than words
could ever cut.
Write about your first heartbreak,
the last funeral you attended, your
empty rooms, the nightmare you had
two days ago. Write about your mom!
You mean “MOTHER”.
